Shen Qi Wan + Gui Zhi Fu Ling Wan - 腎氣丸 + 桂枝茯苓丸

This traditional recipe is now obtainable in its original form in contemporary clinics around the globe. It is a tried and true herbal remedy with centuries of successful results in essential health and well-being.

A blend of two classical formulas for the modern clinic.

Originally known as a "Honey Pill", at Empirical Health prefer the term "Honey Pearl". This name reflects the dedication of time and effort invested in crafting a distinctive and valuable pearl, in keeping with the traditions of classical texts.

Warm and tonify the Kidney Yang, boost Kidney Qi and restore proper water metabolism, while simultaneously invigorating the blood to dispel blood stasis, and softening lumps to reduce fixed abdominal pain.

Male reproductive dysfunction or Benign Prostate Hypertrophy
Ovarian cysts or fibroids
Chronic renal disease or urinary dysfunction

Lower back weakness or pain due to Kidney Yang deficiency with blood stasis
Male reproductive disorders due to Kidney Yang and Qi deficiency, with blood stasis.
Tender masses in the lower abdomen due to Phlegm and Blood Stagnation, with underlying Kidney deficiency.

Kidney Qi and Yang are the root source of Yang (warmth and functional energy) for the entire body and are responsible for the distribution and metabolism of water throughout the body. This combination of formulas is used when a Kidney deficiency exists in combination with stasis of blood, and phlegm or damp, and the patient experiences pain in a fixed location.

Abdominal findings are likely to include hypertonicity of the rectus abdominus in the lower abdomen, and pain in a fixed location.

Shen Qi Wan has been shown to improve urinary function and quality of life in patients with benign prostate hypertrophy, potentially through favourably regulating hormone levels. It may also assist with adrenal insufficiency. Gui Zhi Fu Ling Wan appears to inhibit tumour growth, inhibit angiopoiesis (the formation of new blood vessels) and reduce inflammation.

Highest Grade Herbs

After each individual ingredient has passed our rigourous three tier testing policy, it is then carefully prepared according to the classical texts before forming into our wonderful and unique honey pearls. We are fanatic when it comes to correct species identification, correct dose and administration of these ancient formulas we are reviving for the modern world.

Traditional Understanding

Our honey pearls are raw, unique, and based on a 2000 year old preparation method that optimises the absorption of herbal medicine. By making our formulas into Honey Pearls, the active constituents of the ingredients are absorbed slowly and gradually over time, making them highly bioavailable and slow to release. The strength of our formulas is therefore in the delivery. We call this real deal herbalism!
