Tremella is a genus of fungi in the family Tremellaceae. All Tremella species are parasites of other fungi and most produce anamorphic yeast states. Basidiocarps, when produced, are gelatinous and are colloquially classed among the “jelly fungi”.

Tremella mushrooms (Tremella fuciformis), commonly known as white fungus or snow ear, are edible and widely found in warm climates. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), they have been employed for thousands of years to enhance immunity, prevent disease, and improve skin health.
