A collaboration with Empirical Health

Join Zoey Gong, founder of Silver Root Apothecary (Shanghai) and internationally recognised voice in Chinese food therapy, for a rare, immersive experience hosted in collaboration with Empirical Health.

Over one weekend only, Zoey will share her approach to the art and philosophy of “food as medicine” through a carefully curated series of small-group workshops and intimate dining experiences.

Each event blends education, tasting, and conversation - connecting the wisdom of Chinese medicine with modern nourishment and daily life.

With just ten guests per session, these events are designed to be calm, sensory, and deeply engaging.

Dinner Experience (3 hours)

A Night of Food Therapy

$260 per person

A seated, interactive dining event led by Zoey.

Enjoy a curated “food as medicine” menu featuring functional ingredients and seasonal Chinese medicine principles.

The evening includes discussion, Q&A, and shared table conversation.

Where will the event be held?

The workshops and dinner will take place in Sydney. We’re finalising a venue that aligns with the tone and intimacy of the event and will share full details with all guests once confirmed.

Who is this event suitable for?

These sessions are open to everyone, from practitioners and students of Chinese medicine to anyone interested in food as medicine and traditional health practices. No prior experience is required.

What’s included in the ticket price?

All materials, herbs, and ingredients for the workshops are provided, as well as the full meal and beverages for the dinner experience.

Can I attend more than one workshop?

Yes, absolutely. Each workshop focuses on a different theme and can be booked individually or combined with the dinner experience.

Are dietary requirements accommodated?

Yes. Please include any dietary requirements when booking, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them where possible.

Is the event refundable?

Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable. If you can no longer attend, you’re welcome to gift or resell your ticket.

Accessibility?

Please note the venue is located on the second floor and is accessible only via stairs. Unfortunately, there is no lift access. If this may impact your ability to attend, please contact us before booking and we’ll do our best to assist or explore suitable alternatives.
